If you would like the plans to build this riser, I have actually designed the drafting plans to make it an easy to follow do-it-yourself project. Contact me directly and for a small fee I will email you the plans.

While I was building the riser. At this point all I was thinking was "Dammit Jim, I'm a drummer not a carpenter!"

The 9' x 9' Neil Peart Drum riser. I actually build one for my Rush tribute project. Unfortunately due to the size and weight to make it strong enough to handle the weight and vibration of the drums, I did not make it rotate. Nevertheless here it is.

The drum riser consists of 12" x 2" floor beams, 3/4 inch plywood on top to handle the weight and vibration and 1/2 inch plywood on the bottom for stability. The riser is divided into 4 parts that interlock with each other when joined and have guide bolts that also lock in place to ensure stability and no separation.

Cosmetically it is covered with a black felt material that is simply to make it look nice, and finished with black paint and metal trim to enhance the edges. I also built in permanent handles that you cannot see once assembled to help make it easier to move each of the 4 individual sections. Once lifted, put it on a wheel dolly and away you go.
